Steel Stamping Bracket for the Transport Products Industry

The bracket highlighted here is used to attach the measuring device to a commercial or heavy duty vehicle axel to record the distance traveled. Its robust construction allows secure mounting and sustained reliability under harsh on-road conditions. Primary manufacturing operations involved laser cutting, forming the angular geometries, piercing the mount holes, and marking each part. Constructed from 0.1196” thick hot rolled pickled & oiled sheet steel, it featured dimensions of 8.8” in length and 1.5” in width. Our CNC controlled equipment allowed us to keep close dimensional tolerances of ±0.005”. After sanding and deburring, we applied a clear zinc plating to prevent rust and corrosion.

In addition to dimensional inspections, we built a custom fixture to validate the hole placement on the 250 units in the order. Start to finish, we completed this project within a narrow 3-week timeframe. Our design modification resulted in an improved product at less expense to the client and expedited the production schedule.
