This stamped terminal clip jumper was manufactured using a punch press with universal tooling and a minimal number of processes. This project is an example of our small part manufacturing and unique forming capabilities.
The 0.0239” thick rolled steel was first blanked to a flat 0.750” x 0.750” square. Then the piece was shear formed in six different locations before the periphery of the worked piece was trimmed to size. Finally, the pieces were plated with zinc and clear chromate to prevent oxidation.
Each piece measured 0.380” wide x 0.380” long x 0.096” high with a tolerance of ±0.008”, and weighed 0.1 oz. We used CNC controls and a rigorous quality assurance process to achieve tight tolerances. This was particularly important for such small pieces. After ensuring the quality of the production run, we delivered 5,000 clip jumpers to our customer in the Midwest just four weeks after receiving the order.
