Stamped Copper Terminal Stamped Copper Terminal (click to enlarge)

This stamped copper terminal for lift trucks and parts was manufactured using HP stock forming tools and fixtures and therefore required very little investment in tooling from our client. By leveraging stock forming tools, we were able to deliver the finished product (250 pieces) to our client in the Midwest in less than four weeks.

The client provided us with the CAD drawings and specifications for this project. We were able to achieve tolerances down to ±0.0025” in the square opening by using precise CNC controls and employing rigorous dimensional inspections of the machined parts. The finished products measured 1.850” in width x 1.665” in length x 1.450” in height and weighed just 0.8 oz.

We used 0.125” thick 110 copper bus bar for the material’s high electrical conductivity. To machine the piece, we employed blanking to stamp the flat blank contour, piercing to punch the square opening, and forming to bend the short and long legs by 90 degrees.

A vibratory deburring process was used to remove excess copper material, but no additional finishing was necessary. All of this was completed on punch presses with universal tooling to reduce costs even further.
