This stamped DIN rail clip was designed for use in pneumatic valves, air cylinders, control systems, and air preparation components. Based on the customer-supplied CAD drawings and specifications, we were able to manufacture the parts using a punch press with universal tooling and a tapping machine.
The pieces were made using 0.062” ±0.002” thick soft-tempered cold-rolled sheet steel: First, each piece was stamped flat and formed into a “U” shape, then piercing and extruding were used to create a hole. And finally, each part was lightly hit to achieve the proper dimensions and the hole was tapped.
The final products measured 0.455” in length x 0.330” in width x 0.530” in height with a tolerance of +0.002” / -0.001”, and weighed 0.1 oz. Each was finished with a 0.0003/0.0005” thick zinc plate to increase durability and prevent oxidation. As usual, we were able to deliver the entire production run of 750 pieces to our Midwestern client just four weeks after receiving the order.
